More than 620 students have already become energy explorers! If you would like to join the Energy Explorer movement, please contact me and I'm happy to meet your middle school class over a Zoom or Meet call. If you are local to the Bay Area, I can also come by in person to present to you all.

Energy Explorers: The Household Power Puzzle

This workshop transforms middle schoolers into Household Energy Detectives. Together, we will explore the essential role energy plays in our daily lives and uncover the simple secrets to saving it
.
Students will embark on a mission to understand the basics of renewable and non-renewable energy and how power is measured. The central focus will be the highly engaging hunt for "Energy Vampires"—those sneaky appliances that quietly drain electricity even when they are turned off. We'll also dive into how major systems like water heaters and fridges consume energy.
The workshop format includes hands-on worksheets that challenge students to analyze energy use in real-world household scenarios. Students will leave with the knowledge and the tools necessary to embark on an energy saving mission at home, empowering them to make immediate, positive changes to their family's consumption habits and carbon footprint.
